Country music fans aren't the only ones anxiously awaiting the Tuesday release of Mark Wills' fourth album, Loving Every Minute.
"You've been working on it for so long that you're just ready to get it out there and let it start doing its thing," Mr. Wills said. "That's the way it gets when you reach this point. It's done, it's ready to go, and now you're just ready for it to be out there and be working."
Fans can get a taste of the album by tuning into country radio stations or CMT to hear the album's first single, after which the album is named.
The video for Loving Every Minute is a story about a police officer and his wife having a baby. "And the whole video runs through how y you've lived your life, but when it comes to something like this, life takes on a totally different meaning. Right there at that point when that baby is born, your life changes. And you're loving every minute," Mr. Wills said.
Naming the album after the single was easy self-promotion, Mr. Wills said.
"When (Loving Every Minute) was decided to be the single we then decided that people are going to be talking about it on the radio. They're going to be saying 'Mark Wills Loving Every Minute' on whatever country station you're listening to. So we thought that was a good way to promote the record as well, with not having anything out there," he said.
The title track could also signify that the 1999 Academy of Country Music (ACM) award-winner for top new vocalist is "loving every minute" of his career.
The 27-year old singer has charted 10 singles, hitting No. 1 with three - I Do (Cherish You), Don't Laugh at Me and Wish You Were Here.
"If you're not enjoying (your career) then you should go do something else. I still have a good time doing what I do for a living," he said.
He added that one drawback of the music life is being away from his family - wife Kelly and 2-year old daughter Mally. However, Mr. Wills finds remedy in bringing them on the road with him.
It's no wonder that one of Mr. Wills' favorite songs is Back on Earth, a song about being on the road away from loved ones.
"When you're out on the road, you think everything just stops at home, but it doesn't. All of life keeps going, and that song is about how I'm away from home, but at the same time, life goes on some place else," he said.
Although Mr. Wills does not write most of his material, he said that most of his songs are about real life experiences from songwriters. He said he talks to the songwriters to find out what their thoughts were when writing a song.
"I like to put something out there that could happen, that makes people think," Mr. Wills said.
Mr. Wills did write In My Arms, a song for his daughter found on his 2000 album, Permanently.
The album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Country Charts and was certified gold in three weeks.
